Have you ever noticed that Apple fans are cult like in their following of all things Apple. All of them are drunk on the kool-aid. If you own anything Apple you are like the biggest Apple fan ever. They are just crazy people these Mac fans are. I think that Apple fans have a unique DNA make up or something. They are just wired different. They just do things different. There is something special about these freaks…
Here’s to the crazy ones.
The misfits.
The rebels.
The troublemakers.
The round pegs in the square holes.
The ones who see things differently.
They’re not fond of rules
And they have no respect for the status quo.
You can praise them, quote them, disagree with them, disbelieve them, glorify or vilify them.
About the only thing that you can’t do is ignore them.
Because they change things.
They invent. They imagine. They heal.
They explore. They create. They inspire.
They push the human race forward.
Maybe they have to be crazy.
How else can you stare at an empty canvas and see a work of art?
Or sit in silence and hear a song that’s never been written?
Or gaze at a red planet and see a laboratory on wheels?
We make tools for these kinds of people.
While some may see them as the crazy ones, we see genius.
Because the people who are crazy enough to think that they can change the world, are the ones who do.

I’m glad I’m on this side of the fence! And yes, I am not only drunk on the kool-aid I got plenty for you if you want some too!
I walked into the apple store with THIS. Walked out with THIS!
Paid absolutely nothing.
And no, no one did anything illegal. All good things come from above. That’s all I’m going to say about that.
In something entirely unrelated (if it were really unrelated would I be posting it on this entry?). There is a guy working on our handouts and overall general layout that we will use in most everything. Check his stuff out HERE. You have to scroll down through some of his stuff. It is out of this world! The stuff he is doing is incredible on any level…that is how church stuff should be (not just good enough for church but better than the stuff you find in the world!). Keep praying, and God keeps working.
Oh, and if you read this far you mos def know I don’t hate apple.

We are almost done downloading our first movie rental from iTunes. I can’t wait to see how it turns out. Has anyone one else done this yet? Now we may need the Apple TV ??? Anyone else seeing an Apple TV in their future? I just love those crazy Apple people!

At least for me. I am looking forward to Tuesday like a child looks forward to Christmas! I don’t even know why. I’m not going to get anything no matter how cool it is. But, for some reason I love this stuff!

Now if this thing comes out perhaps I wont be so upset about breaking mine and therefore having to get a new one???? Either way, if the rumors of its existence are true, I will be at the Apple store to check it out:

As if there weren’t enough reasons to be in love with Apple…soon I will be able to order my Starbucks right from my iPhone!!! Sick is all I can say.

One of our goals at LP is to be Innovative (Authentic, Reckless, Innovative). All churches and ministries should be Innovative. I hate the term “relevant.” Was Jesus relevant? Sure. Was that His goal? I doubt it. He had higher aspirations. Like doing the will of the Father, and, I believe, being Innovative more so than relevant. There was no one (yes, including Steve Jobs) more Innovative than Jesus.
The definition of Innovative that we chase after is: “Being, or producing something, like nothing done or experienced before.” The implications are obvious. Christ in us will equal us being different. Bringing Christ to others will equal producing something never experienced before.
So, how can we be innovative? Study, hard work, and Christ in us. Here is part of the “study” aspect. We, as church leaders and missional people, should study and learn from everything we can. I love Apple! I learn a lot from what Apple does. When I saw this article I had to post it. Check it out, it is well worth it. With a little work I think we can easily apply THESE 5 RULES to bring Innovation to the church.
FYI
If you have, or are planning on getting an iPhone: do NOT put it in your pocket with the glass facing out. I ran into the corner of our kitchen table while playing with Aidan. And, yes the glass was facing out! If you are going to run into tables don’t have the glass facing out, or it could look like THIS (my broken iPhone).
This is my dream stage. As Angela says I’m obsessed with screens. I’m impressed with this church because they did all of this (3 screens, 2 plasmas, 5 edirol switchers, and Macs) for very cheap!!! That blows my mind. I may sell my four wheeler for this set up.
