Our 21 day journey through John is over! I hope for some this made getting in God’s Word a habit. Some obviously still have a long way to go with that. I’m just saying.

Not that this is why we did this, but I must say that I am very impressed with:

  • Rachel – didn’t miss even a day
  • Donny – don’t think he missed a day
  • Faith – didn’t miss a single day
  • Joann – missed just one day
  • Gerri – missed just one
  • Danielle – missed just one
  • Randi – very impressed, started her blog just for this and didn’t miss
  • Lauren – very impressed, learned this blog thing just to go on this journey with us and didn’t miss a day

Don’t get all crazy on me. I know this isn’t why we did this, but why is it that if we do something good in life people can come beside us and congratulate us? Why can’t it be that way in our spiritual lives? Well, it should be so I just want to say to those of you above I am impressed. There is certainly no saying that just because we went through John we got anywhere. We don’t need to go through more of the Bible, the Bible needs to go through more of us. But, one of the big reasons we started this was to make it a habit. The only way the Bible can go through us is if we go through the Bible. I am proud of you guys above. Thank you for taking this so seriously…it really means a lot to me.

Again (if Dennis is reading this proves my point again), where did all the men go? What the heck happened? The girls just kicked our butts again! Dang it’s time we had some mens lead the way. Let’s learn from this and not be embarrassed ever again.

Well I must ask, what were your thoughts and impressions of the 21 day journey through John?

READ: John 21

MY KEY VERSE: John 21:25 Jesus did many other things as well. If every one of them were written down, I suppose that even the whole world would not have room for the books that would be written.

MY REFLECTION: There is no need or reason to add anything to that.  That is truly amazing.

MY PRAYER: God thank you and help me to serve the One who did so much that the world couldn’t hold all the books it would take to truly tell His story.

MY KEY VERSE: John 20:19-2o On the evening of that first day of the week, when the disciples were together, with the doors locked for fear of the Jews, Jesus came and stood among them and said, “Peace be with you!” After he said this, he showed them his hands and side. The disciples were overjoyed when they saw the Lord.

MY REFLECTION: THIS is what comes to mind!

MY PRAYER: God thank you is the only response.

124-2433_img.jpgREAD: John 19

MY KEY VERSE: John 19:10-11 Pilate had a notice prepared and fastened to the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS. Many of the Jews read this sign, for the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and the sign was written in Aramaic, Latin and Greek. The chief priests of the Jews protested to Pilate, “Do not write ‘The King of the Jews,’ but that this man claimed to be king of the Jews.”
Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”

MY REFLECTION: This was the first tract ever written….boldly proclaiming who Jesus really is-King of the Jews! It reminds me of this VERSE. It is awesome how so many meant this whole thing for evil…but all along the way God had a plan. And in their evil schemes they just made Gods plan work. Today was sad…can’t wait for tomorrow.

MY PRAYER: God thank you that even in your death, and the days leading up to your death, you were forgiving people, praying for us, and proclaiming the Gospel. I hope that in my roughest days I am able to forgive, pray for others, and tell others. Thank you for your Son who has made all of this possible. Religion is mans attempt to get to God, Jesus is Gods way to man! Thank you for Jesus. Amen

18.jpgREAD: John 18

MY KEY VERSE: John 18:10-11 Then Simon Peter, who had a sword, drew it and struck the high priest’s servant, cutting off his right ear. (The servant’s name was Malchus.) Jesus commanded Peter, “Put your sword away! Shall I not drink the cup the Father has given me?”

MY REFLECTION: I want to be so zealous for Jesus that He has to slow me down, and tell me to stop. Not to get moving or get going. I love Peter, he was intense. I hope to be that intense some day. Yes, he made some dumb decisions. Yes, in this same chapter he denies Jesus. But, overall he was chasing after Jesus with all he had and the best way he knew how.

MY PRAYER: God, help me to be zealous for you. Help me to chase after you whatever the cost. In Jesus Christs name, thank you!

17ste.jpgREAD: John 17

MY KEY VERSE: John 17:15-20 My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one. They are not of the world, even as I am not of it. Sanctify them by the truth; your word is truth. As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world. For them I sanctify myself, that they too may be truly sanctified. My prayer is not for them alone. I pray also for those who will believe in me through their message…

MY REFLECTION: Its pretty cool to hear that people are praying for you. It is rediculously insane to think and know that my Saviour was about to die on a cross for me…and was praying for me. Will all that He had to worry about, He was worried about me! Wow that is intense.

MY PRAYER: God, thank you!

joe-montana-celebrating-touchdown-photofile-photograph-c10107928.jpgREAD: John 16

MY KEY VERSE: John 16:19 Jesus saw that they wanted to ask him about this, so he said to them, Are you asking one another what I meant when I said..

MY REFLECTION: It seems a bit odd that Jesus was right there and the disciples didn’t come to Him with their questions. They went to each other. That’s lame. They made some messed up choices, and yet they are going to each other for guidance and wisdom and question. Weird, don’t you think? But, how often do we do the same. Jesus is right there, but is many times the last person we go to with problems, questions, concerns, and for direction. We all too often lean on each other first. Yes, we are made for community and each other, but first and foremost we are made for fellowship with Him.

MY PRAYER: God, help me to go through life with people. But, help me to never get distracted or sidetracked to the point that I rely on people first and you later. Help me with my decisions, problems, questions, concerns and everything else to go to you first, not last.
